Description
We at Efficient Home saw a need: Homeowners are facing huge increases in both their gas and electric energy bills. They need professional help to make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable while lowering their monthly power bills. But they need more than an energy expert telling them whats needed. They need a one-stop shop that can manage the entire process of making their home an Efficient Home. There are home audit services, and there are a number of ways to address problems and make a home more efficient. But theres only one company that does it all - an all-encompassing site for energy efficiency, safety, comfort and greener living. With our specialized training and credentials, we can now offer the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys ENERGY STAR Certifications for builders and new homes. Our highly trained technicians use state-of-the-art equipment in our audit services, and our home improvement contractors are efficient and professional. We stand behind all our work, as well. Efficient Home is based in suburban Maryland, and serves homeowners and builders throughout Maryland, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia.

We have already seen a huge improvement in the climate control of our upstairs and will be reprogramming our thermostat downward again for winter nights. Upstairs seems to be warmer (winter ) than previously . Basement is warmer also and less need for supplemental electric heat. It will be a while before I can assess the dollar savings from the work. One discrepancy was that infiltration test (blower door ) showed very little difference pre and post sealing even though there was much wall joint sealing . I suspect that there was a calibration problem with the blower door apparatus since different units were used before and after. |

The contractors came on time to get the job done. There was an ammonia smell the night after the insulation. We followed up with management, in which they came out a few times during the next week to check up on the smell to ensure that it was not the cellulose insulation. Since then, the smell has died down. The temperatures upstairs are now the same temperatures on the main level. It used to get extremely hot upstairs in the spring and summer time. I'm happy. |

The workers were proficient and reliable, the paperwork, needed to secure my rebate, was explained clearly and made easy to complete, the administrative practices (reminders, phone calls, documents) were done in a timely and professional manner. My only complaint is that the belt on the truck that blew in the attic insulation broke midway through the project, and the crew had to come out a second time to finish the work. Things break, but I didn't appreciate having to take more time off from work to be here during the week to see the job completed. Other than that, I had no problems with the audits or work. The crew was friendly and cleaned up well. I look forward to an energy efficient home! |
