Welcome to Ecobeco! Our mission is to help you save energy, money and the environment. Were a one-stop shop for eco-friendly solutions for your home. Ecobeco is a provider of Home Energy Audits under the Maryland Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program. Ecobeco was awarded 2009 Maryland Home Performance Contractor of the Year by the Maryland Energy Administration. Ecobecos energy efficiency experts provide prioritized, actionable advice and facilitate the selection of contractors to get work done. Ecobeco also provides auditing services for multi-family buildings (condos/apartments), and provides LED lighting solutions for commercial buildings. Ecobeco provides services throughout in the Maryland suburbs of DC, the District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia. We have done all the research for you: regulations, green building best practices, payback periods, return on investment, and product recommendations. We have partnerships with fantastic contractors who can perform work at your home. We guide you through each option, explain the benefits and costs, and we create an improvement plan for you with specifics on what you should do today, next year, and in the future. No matter, the upstairs has stayed toasty warm with just the rising air from below, even when outside temperatures dipped into the 30s. As a result of their audit, we installed foam spray insulation and air sealing on the roof line. The house was substantially cooler and the attic space was comfortable on even the hottest summer days. We turned on the furnace yesterday for the first time, and I noticed that the house heated up fast at a much lower temperature setting when we normally use. With air temperatures outside in the 40s (early in the morning) the attic was comfortably warm and draft free. A home-run retrofit! Thanks MEA and Eco-Beco! |

The auditors were very thorough in going through my entire house, seam by seam, showing me areas of heat loss, and appliance by appliance, showing me what could be improved or upgraded or operated more efficiently. They gave several suggestions for both DIY and professional fixes. The report I received was also very thorough and gave a lot of information that helped me to prioritize the projects I wanted to do. I was initially hesitant to use ecobeco's recommended contractors, but I soon found that if I wanted the same services and MD Home Performance standards and to qualify for the rebate program, I didn't have other options in my area. I'm glad I went with eco's recommendation--the air sealing/insulation contractor knew exactly how to use eco's report and did a very good job. The work was complicated by the fact that the house has five separate atticks. The result is a house that feels much more thermally stable particularly one room that is a dormer over the garage, which was our primary motivation the get the energy audit. |
